Ellen-Claire Boomsma
Artist Ellen-Claire Boomsma-Hulsegge (born in Warnsveld, 1973) graduated from the Minerva Art Academy and has specialized in portrait painting, both commissioned and autonomous work. She continues to refine her skills through masterclasses at institutions such as the Classical Academy and various art-focused professional programs. She works primarily with acrylic and oil paints on canvas or wood. Her style is colorful and distinctive, often defined by the expressive gaze of her subjects. The eyes play a central role in her portraits — intense, captivating, and seemingly following the viewer — especially in commissioned works, where she captures them as the true mirror of the soul. Her work has been exhibited at various galleries throughout the Netherlands, as well as at prominent art fairs such as the Masters Expo and KunstRAI. She also appeared on the Dutch television program Sterren op het Doek by Omroep MAX.
